On to the good stuff....the babies are doing fantastic! We can't believe how they've changed just in the past week! They have finally been moved in together to the same crib!! At long last!! They are growing and they have both learned to breastfeed very well with no trouble. The nurses are amazed at how well they are eating so quickly! Our little Elliot, who had so many struggles and setbacks for so long, is amazing everyone at how he is just suddenly excelling! He is thrilled to have discovered eating and now that's really all he wants to do. He never seems to be full....this is making us a little nervous about how the first few months are going to go! :) But these are good problems to have so we'll take it! He is awake all the time now and so alert! He just loves to look around and examine his environment. He looks so deep in thought, it's adorable! Ava is eating like a pro as well and just doing great since her surgery. She is finally gaining some weight again since having a little setback with her surgery. She is now 4 lbs 1 oz and Elliot is 4 lbs 12 oz. We can finally see the end in sight at this point. They are just in the "feeding and growing" stage of their hospitalization and will hopefully be on their way home very soon!
Unfortunately, we do have one more hurdle to cross before we can really relax. Elliot's PDA was re-evaluated yesterday and the cardiologists have decided that he needs to have surgery to close it before he goes home (same surgery as Ava). His PDA is not getting any smaller and it's continuing to put strain on his heart and lungs so they no longer want to "wait and see". We were hoping to avoid this but it looks like we have to go through it all over again! We don't know when he will have the surgery yet. We will probably find out early this week. Please keep sending your prayers that he will sail through so he can get home ASAP!!
Now on to the fun stuff...the pictures!
Together again!!

Mommy finally getting to hold BOTH of her babies!!!!!!!!

Ava and her ducky mittens just being cute :)

Elliot wearing his rock n roll shirt from Aunt Wendy while playing a little air guitar....I think it was 'Stairway to Heaven' but he was a little off key so I can't be sure!
