Ava and Elliot are doing fantastic! They have made it out of the hospital and through this ordeal without any lasting issues related to their prematurity. They have passed all of their tests and are healthy and absolutely perfect! We were able to finally bring them home today at 5pm and they are doing great.
We are so grateful to the amazing doctors and nurses at Shands for everything they did over these past 7 1/2 weeks to get our babies to this point. We have made many friends and a few we feel have become part of our family.
We are also incredibly thankful to all of our absolutely amazing family and friends for supporting us throughout this journey. Your prayers and kindness have lifted us up and helped us make it through. We are so fortunate! THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!!!!!
Throughout these past weeks, we have seen so many things in the NICU that have touched our hearts and lives forever. Though in the beginning, it was difficult to feel anything but sadness and heartache, we realize now how incredibly blessed we truly are because, in the end, we got to come home with two healthy babies. There are many parents in the NICU who are not nearly as fortunate. We ask that you continue to pray for those families with babies facing life-threatening conditions and lifelong challenges and disabilities.
We will continue to keep the blog updated with pictures of the babies as they grow and flourish in their new lives at home! We love you all!!!!
The babies' absolutely amazing Neonatologist and guardian angel, Dr. Julie Baines, as we prepare to finally leave the hospital!
