Vacation and more surgery

This past weekend, we traveled to Palm Beach for cousin Rick and Andreina's wedding. The wedding was beautiful and the twins had a blast. We spent lots of time in the hotel pool and even took a trip to Juno Beach.

Juno Beach...Ava was NOT a fan of the scorching heat, and DEFINITELY not a fan of the water!!

Elliot, on the other hand, thought this was a blast. We were just going to get our feet wet, but after Elliot sat right down in the water fully clothed, we decided to just strip him down and let him have fun!

On to other exciting events .... poor Elliot has had a problem with his left eye since birth. His tear duct never opened properly so tears couldn't drain into his nose normally. Therefore he has always had a red, crusty, boogery left eye. He had it in his right eye as well, but not nearly as bad as the left. This is a fairly common issue with babies and lots of time it resolves on its own by the end of their first year. Unfortunately, Elliot's never resolved so he had a procedure today where he had to have anesthesia and have tubes run through his tear ducts to open them up properly. He did great and everything went well. Unfortunately, this causes some bleeding in the tear duct that drains from the eye to the nose, so this is the post-procedure result (only temporary, of course!)....

But the good news is that this will hopefully resolve his lifelong problem with his boogery eye once and for all!!
