Elliot has been "chatting" all the time lately but not really saying any real words. He says Mama and Dada and Hi when you ask him to, but he doesn't say them to us or use the words to identify us. But alas, he has finally said his first real word, used to identify something. And, for reasons unknown to us, this first word is "Elmo"! He has always been much more into Mickey Mouse than Sesame Street and we've never really influenced him with a lot of Elmo stuff, but a few days ago, as we were getting in the car, he saw a picture of Elmo on a book in the car and got excited. He immediately pointed to him and said "Aboo!". After I realized what he was trying to say, I asked him who that was and he repeated "Aboo" (which we translate as "Elmo" :)
So, from that day on, he gets excited every time he sees "Aboo" and says his name over and over. Of course we had to take him to Toys r Us this weekend to get him and Elmo toy! This is a video we took while picking out an Elmo toy.
